Book
Green Waters and Blue Lands is an epic story of loss, love, dreams realized and expectations never met. An autobiography, but not in its entirety, the story begins in 1993 when a 15 year old boy from a middle class family from Mumbai, India suddenly loses his father. His untimely death, to a once care-free adolescent who has just completed his 10th grade final exams and beginning his summer vacation, in an instant, changes his life forever.
Determined to live the life he'd always imagined, he begins the slow process of moving forward, tapping into his creativity, and pursuing animation classes. The book reveals Vora's passion to succeed; to overcome his own fears and the financial constraints of his family's situation and the gratitude he felt to his mother who gave him the opportunity to go abroad to Canada to study filmmaking. It details his experiences in India, Vancouver and Bombay, as he continued to pursue his dream of filmmaking and interestingly includes original writing from his scripts as a part of the plot.
Green Waters and Blue Lands is the story of growing older and becoming wiser; experiences gained and losses that leave us empty. Vora weaves a compelling tale of a life filled with hopes and ambitions, some fulfilled and some never to be realized, all of which have shaped the person and the filmmaker who continues on his journey.
